Gloomy Doomy

I took yesterday off, it being Sunday and all, so am back today.

It is very gloomy outside and hopefully we will get some rain.  We haven't had any for over a week (I know, I shouldn't complain, considering you Texas Folk).

Church was interesting yesterday as we had a "new" preacher and all our regular members were gone except Jim and I, and two other families.  Fortunately, we filled the ranks with other visitors from Georgia who had come in for a family reunion and has ancestors buried in our graveyard.  Fortunately, Jim and I had made enough food for everyone to get fed.  It always feels like the fishes and loaves when this happens, and there is always enough.  The really funny part was that the feeding of the 4000 was the sermon.

After that, I went for a walk in the woods to collect pinecones for my birdie project.  I haven't yet decided how to put all the pieces together.  Maybe with hot glue, if I can find my gun.  I found enough pinecones to make about 20 birds.  I am thinking of asking my friendly neighborhood organic farmer whether he would consider putting a little display on his market day table to see if they would sell.

I also got one bug art and a couple of interesting looking shrooms

I also did some weedwhacking and tree trimming around the pond and the back garden.  I gathered up all of the tomato stakes for next year, and during all of this, I found about 8 of the blueberry bushes Jim never planted alive in some of the bigger pots.  Unfortunately, I whacked a few before I realized they were there. Hopefully they will come back.  I think I will go ahead and plant them next to the ones that I already have since that area seems good only for grapes and bloobs.

That's about all.

I didn't get any chicken pics cause they aren't doing anything interesting.  Just eating.

  1. Maybe use a drop of craft glue? It seems like it would be more manageable than hot glue
