Yesterday was a vet visit for Buddy. I really take how smart he is for granted sometimes. Whenever he sees his purple leash come out, he knows he is going somewhere. Ditto yesterday AM. I put the leash in my purse on one of the bar chairs, and while I was brushing my teeth, he got it out of my purse, without disturbing anything else and brought it to me. I think it reminds him of his puppyhood when he used to go riding all over Texas. When I got to the vet, I told him to get on the scales, which he promptly did and then we sat down to wait our turn. There was a gentleman waiting for his dog, and he looked at me in disbelief and asked how I got "that dog" on the scales so easily. I told him that Buddy was a very smart, laid back dog and would do just about anything he was told. The man smiled and shook his head and said that not one dog in 100 that he knew would do that at the vet. I guess Buddy really is special.

After I got home, I did a little more storage in the carport shed. I put all of my irrigation drip tape in the garden nook, AFTER I moved some of Jim's things that he had the audacity to put on my side. I repotted two poinsettias that were woefully cramped and watered the porch plants.
Then I picked up Abarat, Absolute Midnight and read a little.
That was pretty much all for yesterday.

Note the tomato plant volunteer in the background next to the heat pump. I have no idea how that got there, unless one of the cockers ate a tomato at that spot.
Buddy is a very good dog, and a lucky dog too.
