Hither and Yawn

Well, I went to bed so early last night since I was up so early yesterday AM, I woke up early this morning. My sleep patterns are off now.  Let the chickies out at 6:30.  I've got two that are trying to brood now and that is NOT acceptable.  My egg production is way off.  I will break them, or they will break me.

After that, I caught my episode of Glee from last night on Hulu.  Yes, even in the country, we have the (semi) modern conveniences.

I was in the garden a little this morning looking at the potato row.  None have come up yet so I don't have to put my second hoop house up just yet.  I got two more rows weeded, then it was time for bridge.

On the way, I realized that I only had a very little gas, so I stopped at the local country store to put enough in to get to Burgaw.  Their regular unleaded was 3.99!  You don't ALWAYS gotta love the country. Fortunately my car gets 40 miles to the gallon so 3.8 gallons got me where I needed to go with much to spare.

Had a pretty good day today at bridge.  Half my hands were biddable, which is rare for me.  I also did something that I have never done.  With 20 points, I opened with 4 spades to get a 700 rubber.  It was very brave of me, but I ended up making one overtrick so it worked out.  I also had a couple of successful doubles.  I may have made one of the top 5 spots.

Then to the store for the weekly marketing.  Uneventful, except Gmar bitching about the price of food.  Imagine if I didn't grow some of my own.

Got home for walkies.  I am putting it back in the regular routine as turkey season is over.  The weather today was nice and cool, in the low 60's so after sticking a lasagna in the oven, we went (me and the barkers).  Many pictures follow, including NEW BUG ART.

I see a sandpiper bird

I love this one, I see a rear view of Bambi

Also got some pretty flowers (May you know)

Well, I am still yawny, but I have to try to stay up a little while so's to get back on the proper sleep cycle.
Off to read a book.

  1. Bug-art Bambi is my favorite -- so far. 40 miles to the gallon -- humph! You must be driving an electric moped.

  2. no moped, although I wouldn't mind having one, just a toyota corolla standard 5 speed.
