Sunday Blues

Woke up with a case of the blues this morning.  My mood has been off lately.  Didn't feel like dragging myself to church, even though I made a salad of fresh garden peas and beets from the garden last night.  So I spent the day doing whatever came to mind.

Before I let the chickens out at 6, I enlarged the baybays' compound so they have twice as much space and the other chickens have basically a corridor to get to the outside world.  I think MB2 appreciated the new scratching area.

mmmm, new greens

The baybays are still facing off in order to establish pecking order.  I hate to tell them that when they get to the larger flock, they are on bottom again.

I'm bigger, no I am, no I am
I got a picture of a mooch bird while I was watching the baybays.

Just one mouth full, comahn

Then I wandered out to the garden and weeded a row of lettuce.  While I was out there, I pulled up three collard plants, washed them, scalded them and froze them.

Then I sat on the porch and watched the clouds build.

some cumulus

There's always a buzzard somewhere in the sky here.

It never did rain.  I went inside and decided to find a recipe for whole wheat english muffins.  I found one and made same.

pip pip cheereo

They turned out REALLY good.  I'll never buy store stuff again.

Outside again and got some shots of JW in the roses.

cute!!!???  ME!!!???

Took a nap for about 1 hour, then got up and watered the potted plants on the porch.  They were so dry.

That's about it.  Looking back on the day, it really wasn't SO blue.  I did stuff.  Maybe it was just a slow day.  Oh well.  Maybe tomorrow will be a green day.
