Locked broody two out all afternoon. She was hencensed! Kept running around clucking and fluffing. Mad hen disease. The rest of the girls enjoyed scratching in the woods. They also got into the compost pile when I took out some soil and scratched it up for me. I put the soil into the second cold frame to prep it for something to be named later. Maybe to harden off my Amaranth.
Walked around this PM to check tree growth. Nice peach formation on the small peach tree. One of my Apricots has started to leaf out, but I think the other one died. Dang.

Speaking of death, a sad thing. On our way back from walkies today, we found a dead mole. I was going to bury it, but then I thought, if we live above ground and bury our dead below ground, maybe this poor dead mole was brought up by her people to be buried above ground, as they live below ground. So I left it there in reverence.
Besides, it was kinda decayed around the edges.

Well, the monthly auction started about an hour ago, but as Jim is not here, the chickens are not put up and there was nothing that I couldn't live without this time, I won't go.
Think it's porch and champaign time. (Duplin had a 40% off sale on cases yesterday for members so I came home with one case of white, one case of red and one case of champaign.) Too bad I used the strawberries to make a pie this morning.
