News Flash: Barak channels George W

Usually I would rather rip my nails out than discuss anything that goes on in Washington, but this one is too good to pass up, especially since I am a devout worshiper at the Alter of Absurd.

Sometimes the gods give you a gift.

Gmar and I were driving home from bridge today and the radio (remember those?) had a sound bite of Pres Obama on the impending government shortfall.  He said (and I kinda quote) "We are facing a shut-down of the government and it's all because of politics".

I laughed so hard that I almost ran off the road.

And we are facing a shut down of communication and it's all because of words.

And we are facing a shut down in the classroom and it's all because of education.

And we are facing a shut down in transportation and it's all because of the vehicles.

I swear, somewhere, Lewis Carol is laughing (guffawing, giggling, chortling, chuckling, sniggering) his fool head off.

BUT, I live in the country and have a garden and chickens and clean air and well water.  Oh you poor, poor city folk.

So, back to my real world.

I got the new plow attachment for my tiller and I'm so excited.  I can't wait to try it out tomorrow.  I should be able to finish the irrigation with this baby.

I named it Joan Plowright

We did have a freeze last night but not a bad one.  I'm hoping that this is the very LAST one till winter.  But just in case I'm keeping my tropicals in one more night.  It's such a pain (literally) to move them.

Also, my lemon tree is covered with blooms and also with little lemons.  First time since it was born (rooted).

Junior with fruit

Walkies today was uneventful except the rabbit that got away (yay).  MB2 seems to be holding her own.  Life on the farm is good.  I got beer.

  1. Life in the city ain't so bad, we got beer too! Shiner just came out with a seasonal flavor with Ruby Red grapefruit juice in it. It's pretty good.

    Love!
